This courseware is an introductory exploration into front end web development with the Cascading Stylesheet Language (CSS). Designed in boot camp fashion to get new front-end developers up and running quickly, while at the same time exploring the complexities of CSS in depth. Each chapter begins by identifying what the student will learn followed by a brief introduction to the chapters’ contents. An explanation of the chapter objectives follows with the use of example code, charts and explanatory text. Each chapter includes exercises to be done with the instructor, followed by both practice and optional challenge exercises for the student to perform on his/her own. Many chapters include “homework” assignments to further your knowledge of the chapter topic. A brief summary concludes each chapter. Each chapter contains independent content; thus, you are not building a project wherein your progress depends on the previous chapters’ successful completion. In addition, the data files provided with the course include a starter file for the student to begin with as well as a finished file that the student may use for review. Attendees will leave feeling confident that they can deliver on their designs in an efficient and performant manner.
